About Us
We are located in beautiful Northwestern Ontario, approximately a 5 hour drive from both the
Pigeon River and International Falls border crossings and about 6.5 hours from Baudette.
The Cabin is boat access only via a short ride from the landing.
Vanessa Lake is approximately 10km long and our little piece of
paradise is about halfway down.
We are the ONLY cabin on the lake!
A beautiful sand beach is great for kids and adults alike.
July and August are prime months for blueberry picking and
because of a wildfire which went through the area a number of years
ago the berries are very abundant.
Moose, Rabbits, Loons, Pelicans and very playful and mischievous
Otters (watch your minnow bucket), are frequent visitors.
The fishing for both Walleye and Northern is excellent......25" to 30" Walleye are not uncommon.
We do ask that you practice catch and release with fish over the slot size as the next guests would
also love to catch "the big one".
Supper is available right in front of the cabin!
A screened-in fish cleaning house is conveniently located close to the lake and is equipped with running
water and lighting for those nights when the fishing is really, really good and it's hard to leave the lake.
The small community of Savant Lake is about a half hour drive from the landing so if you need to re-stock
during your stay, or if something got left behind, you will likely be able to get whatever you need there.
No need to go without if you don't want to!
